Intensive Summer Therapy Camp for Children with Hemiplegia

Arms in Action provides an intensive summer day camp specifically designed for children ages 4 to 7 living with hemiplegia. Led by professional occupational and physical therapists, the program utilizes evidence-based approaches including modified constraint-induced movement therapy (mCIMT) and bimanual intensive training. The camp is structured to be a playful and engaging group setting where children work on using their weaker arm and improving upper extremity function through fun, age-appropriate activities.

The curriculum is highly personalized, incorporating each camper's unique functional goals and their family's specific needs into the daily schedule. Activities are designed to promote independence in daily living, such as participating in self-care tasks and snack preparation. Every child is met at their individual skill level to build confidence and celebrate successes in a supportive environment.

Recognizing the importance of continuity of care, the camp includes dedicated caregiver training sessions. These sessions are designed to educate parents on the fundamentals of hemiplegia, address specific family concerns, and provide practical home carry-over activities to support progress outside of camp. The program runs for 3 weeks, with costs up to $1000 per week.
