Ipswich River Nature Camp

Ipswich River Nature Camp, part of the Mass Audubon sanctuary, offers a peaceful and sensory-rich outdoor environment for children ages 4-14. Spanning nearly 2,000 acres of forests, meadows, and wetlands, the camp provides a calming natural setting that is ideal for campers who benefit from nature-based exploration and a break from traditional classroom structures.

The camp focuses on an educational, noncompetitive environment, which is particularly supportive for children who may experience anxiety in high-pressure social or athletic settings. Activities include exploring twelve miles of interconnected trails, visiting the peaceful Rockery pond, and participating in gentle canoe trips on the slow-flowing Ipswich River. This low-stress approach allows campers to build confidence and social skills at their own pace.

Led by knowledgeable staff and ACA accredited, the day camp emphasizes discovery and friendship within a safe, supervised sanctuary. Located conveniently in Topsfield, MA, the camp provides a structured yet flexible way for children to engage with the natural world and develop new interests in a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere.
