Located at Coastal Edge Skatepark in Virginia Beach, VA, John Fudala Skate Camp provides a fun, educational experience for children ages 6 and up (mature 5-year-olds are also welcome). Led by professional skateboarder John Fudala, who brings over 20 years of experience, the program focuses on building a safe, strong foundation for beginners and challenges for intermediate skaters.
The curriculum emphasizes safety and skill development through stretching, navigation basics, skate games, and proper protective equipment use. The camp features engaging elements like skate contests and shows with music and audience participation. To support new learners, preliminary skateboards and limited helmets are provided, though elbow and knee pads are highly recommended.
Running from 9am to 1pm, the 5-day program offers flexibility, allowing participants to choose any 3 days to attend. Parents and guardians are welcome. While a cooler for water is provided, participants should bring their own snacks and drinks. The week concludes with a Friday pizza party and goody bags for end-of-week attendees.
