Special Equestrians

Special Equestrians is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals with disabilities through the equine experience. Their summer camp program is specifically designed for children ages 5-16 who qualify for therapeutic riding lessons, welcoming both current students and new participants.

The camp curriculum focuses on holistic development through a variety of therapeutic and social activities. Campers participate in group therapeutic riding lessons, as well as unmounted instruction in horse care and stable management. To foster social growth and team-building, the program includes group games, water races, and tie-dying, alongside creative art projects and the creation of personal photo albums to preserve their memories.

A highlight of the camp experience is the weekly horse show, where campers have the opportunity to demonstrate their newly acquired skills to family and friends. Located in Warrington, PA, Special Equestrians provides a supportive, inclusive environment where children with diverse abilities can build confidence and connection through nature and animal interaction.
