Summer Theatre of New Canaan

The Summer Theatre of New Canaan offers the DramaRamas program, a specialized day camp designed to provide performance opportunities for children and teens, ages 8-18, with special needs. This program focuses on fostering creativity and confidence through the art of theater in a supportive, inclusive environment.

During the program, participants rehearse and perform an abridged version of one of the theater's summer shows alongside professional actors and a creative team. To ensure every child feels supported, each participant is paired with and mentored by a professional actor, college intern, or theater staff member. This 1:1 mentorship helps students interpret their roles and navigate the rehearsal process at their own pace.

Rehearsals take place on weekend mornings, culminating in a final performance on the theater's main stage in mid-July. The program typically runs for four weeks, with costs up to $100 per week. Interested families can find application details under the education section of the STONC website.
