The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp

Isabella, MinnesotaOvernight Camp

Camp Buckskin, located in Isabella, MN, is an overnight summer camp specifically designed to serve boys and girls ages 6-18 who are experiencing academic and/or social skill difficulties. The majority of their campers have AD/HD, Learning Disabilities, Aspergers, or similar needs, and have average to well above average intelligence. The camp focuses on helping these children develop their potential and abilities, particularly in self-awareness and peer relation difficulties. Since their establishment in 1959, more than 8,000 children have benefitted from their therapeutic program, experiencing personal growth and improvement as reported by parents, teachers, and other involved professionals.

Camp Buckskin's program effectively utilizes the summer to help youth stay focused, gain knowledge and skills, and improve existing abilities, resulting in a smoother transition to the new school year. The campers receive instruction in a mix of traditional camp and academic activities each day, progressing through various levels and gaining recognition for their achievements. Additionally, the camp focuses on a less visible, yet crucial, Personal Growth program, where campers work on social skill goals throughout the day to improve peer relations, interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a variety of related skills, which are then recorded and shared with parents in a written report, along with insights and observations to help continue the progress made at camp.

The camp is accredited by the ACA and has a proven track record of helping children develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive. Camp Buckskin's dedication to serving children with special needs makes it an invaluable resource for families seeking support for their children. The unique blend of traditional camp activities and personalized growth programs makes Camp Buckskin a valuable option for families looking for a supportive and welcoming environment for their children to learn and grow.
